Al wasn’t a fancy man, he didn’t participate in traditional fishing tournaments, he just loved being out on the water and catching something. That is what this fishing challenge is all about.
We will have prizes, great swag bags, a guaranteed fun time, but most important of all, it will all be for charity; even our catch will be donated to charity.
Fishing boats will depart from DIABLO SPINNING CLUB at 6:00am and will return to the dock at 4pm.
We invite all PanaZonians in Panama and the ones coming down for CZR in January 2027 to join us for a good day of fishing for charity, Al Sprague style!

Fishing boats will depart from Gamboa Rainforest Resort at 0700 and will return to the dock at 1130. At 1200 the bus will head to Maagoo’s Pay-as-you-Go Luncheon; ETA at Maagoo’s 1230. At 1430, the bus will depart Maagoo’s and head to the hoteles. ETA 1500.
We invite all PanaZonians in Panama and the ones coming down for CZR in January 2027 to join us for a good day of fishing for charity, Al Sprague style!
Description: The Gatun Lake & Chagres River Cruise promises to be an unforgettable experience for the Zonian family!
More information: The adventure begins with a scenic cruise through the Panama Canal, passing the Dredging Headquarters and continuing toward Barro Colorado Island. Along the way, you’ll experience the beauty and history of the Canal before arriving at one of the day’s most memorable stops—Monkey Island.
At Monkey Island, you’ll have the unique opportunity to see the monkeys up close as they emerge from their habitat, often expecting a snack from their visiting guests!
Following this memorable encounter, and while vessels continue transiting through the Canal, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy some recreational bass fishing. Fishing poles and bait will be provided for you to try your luck in the waters of Gatun Lake.
After the Canal portion of the cruise, we’ll head up the beautiful Chagres River before making our way back to the dock.
The Association will provide basic drinking water during land transportation, as well as one bottle of water per person while on the boat.
We encourage everyone to bring additional refreshments and recommend wearing appropriate sun protection, sunscreen, comfortable clothing, and suitable footwear to ensure you have a safe and comfortable day on the water.
Come prepared for a day of wildlife, adventure, fishing, and beautiful scenery—an experience the Zonian family won’t soon forget!

Description: Reprosa always takes us back to the days when we would see our mothers and friends wearing them and/or handing some pieces down to us. Now, we have the opportunity to learn and participate in the process of making jewelry pieces in the Reprosa workshop itself.
About: Reprosa started in 1975 from the vision of Frank Santomenno, to safeguard the cultural and historical heritage of Panama through the reproduction of its valuable pieces of pre-Columbian art. “Treasures of Panama” is the name with which we celebrate our collection, which has the best of Panama. It was this pride for the autochthonous that led us to create “Treasures of Panama, the Experience,” a tour in our workshop in Costa del Este where visitors have the opportunity to learn and participate in the process of making our pieces.
Panama’s ancient civilizations, cultural traditions, and natural treasures come to life in our workshop. You will see how pre-Hispanic works are made through the “lost wax process,” the same method that the ancient goldsmiths of Panama used thousands of years ago to make their wonderful pieces of gold.
After the tour in the workshop, you will have some time to shop and look around.

Come and enjoy our Summit Gardens Adventure, as you learn about the flora and fauna with your personal tropical tour guides, former BHS science teachers, Mayra Seitz and Karen Dertien.
Come along as they share their lifelong passion and knowledge of common and obscure jungle facts, share stories about the gardens, and leave you wondering how you ever missed that insect hiding amongst the leaves or that beautiful bird in the tree.
Wear good walking shoes and be prepared to walk a little over a mile, some of it uphill, on somewhat uneven paths.
Hat, bug spray and sunscreen and water are advisable. Feel free to bring binoculars and cameras as there are great photo opportunities.

More information: This tour is conducted by Kassie Sprague Taylor, Al Sprague’s daughter, and his grandson, Alfred Sprague Taylor. Your tour will begin in the lobby of the Radisson Hotel with a short introduction to your personalized Al Sprague art tour.
We will load a cruiser bus for maximum comfort as we journey through 70+ years of Al Sprague Art beginning at the place where he painted his first painting on the causeway. From here you will have an inside look at the permanent collection of paintings depicting a full transit of the Panama Canal on display on the 2nd floor of the Panama Canal Administration Building Rotunda. Hear inside stories about how these paintings came to be an everyday part of life in the Administration Building and how this work has been used for the development of two Canal Zone postage stamps as well as special gifts from the Panama Canal Authority.
Our next stop will be at the Sheraton Grand Hotel where the largest and most famous Al Sprague painting is displayed. Hear the story of how this work found its home across from the front desk.
Our final stop will be at The Executive Hotel where we will view another large Al Sprague original painting and the newly installed Al Sprague mural. We will enjoy a lunch in the cafe surrounded by this Al Sprague artwork. Don’t miss out on this special opportunity to learn more about Al Sprague and his dedication and passion to paint Panama for the world to enjoy. For this 6th edition, a new tradition is born in true PanaZonian spirit. This year the tournament begins the ongoing development of a living historical record of golf in Panamá—from the construction era through the implementation of the treaty, to the present.
There will also be a “Wall of Honor” at the Clubhouse that will commemorate deceased PanaZonian golfers.
Tournament Modality: Team Scramble (Teams of 4 players)

This year, the Ray² Invitational Golf Tournament charity event returns to the Tucan Golf and Resort. Formally known as HoRoKo, Tucan offers golfers a professionally designed, 6,618-yrd, par-72 championship course located within a lush tropical setting. Be prepared to share the fairways with caiman, neque, jacana and toucans, while taking in panoramic views of the Panama Canal’s newest locks as well as the Panama City skyline and the new construction of the Metro rail tunnel.

Description: This guided tour offers a cultural journey of Panama by exploring the geographical history of the Isthmus, the enormous contribution of the indigenous peoples and their beautiful molas, and the impact of the Panama Canal.
More information: Our journey begins visiting the Panama BIOMUSEUM where we will visit 8 galleries in this space. A Biodiversity showcase: Panamarama, a 3-level projection space of Panama’s ecosystems; Building the Bridge, which explains how Panama was formed; Worlds Collide; an exhibit about the animals that migrated through the region; The Human Path, where you learn about the human history of the isthmus; Oceans Divided, semi-cylindrical aquariums; The Living Web, a 15 meter sculpture; and finally, Panama is The Museum, an interactive view of the relationship between Panama´s cultural and ecological diversity.
After this wonderful experience we will head to Casco Viejo. We will begin by visiting the PANAMA CANAL MUSEUM located in Casco Viejo as we tour through the eleven exhibition rooms telling the story of Panamanian history, taking you through 1,350 pieces from pre-Colombian times to the present day, as well as seeing the greatest engineering feats of all time, The Panama Canal. This tour promotes the historical memory of Panama and its Canal, being a platform for art and culture in all its expressions. And last but not least, we will get to visit the MOLA MUSEUM (MuMo) a cultural museum dedicated to celebrating and preserving the traditional textile art of the indigenous Guna people. The museum features five interactive exhibition rooms displaying more than 200 intricate molas, guiding you through the complex “reverse appliqué” hand-sewing technique, the deep spiritual worldview (cosmovision) of the Guna culture, and the nature-inspired geometric designs that make this textile art globally unique.

Description: Participants will enjoy a full-day experience that combines a scenic boat cruise through the bay with a fun and relaxed beach experience. The activity is designed for guests looking to enjoy the sea, good music, great company, and a variety of water activities.
More info: The experience includes an open bar with a selection of beverages, snacks to enjoy throughout the day, and music creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the beach and participate in a wide range of water activities, including water slides, sea scooters, kayaks, paddleboards, and other aquatic activities.
After enjoying the beach, activities, music, drinks, and snacks, participants will return by boat to the city, completing a fun and memorable day on the water.
Safety Requirements:
For the safety and comfort of all participants, the following safety rules apply:
- The captain has the final authority regarding navigation, water activities, and any safety-related decision.
- All passengers must follow the instructions provided by the captain and crew at all times.
- Life jackets must be worn when required by the crew and during designated water activities.
- Children must remain under the supervision of a responsible adult at all times.
- Guests must use water activities and equipment, including the water slide, sea scooter, kayak, and paddleboard, according to the crew’s safety instructions.
- Guests must be physically capable of participating in water activities and should inform the crew of any condition that may affect their safety.
- Appropriate swimwear and secure footwear are recommended.
- Guests should use sunscreen and stay properly hydrated, especially during periods of prolonged sun exposure.
- Diving, jumping from unauthorized areas, running on deck, and any behavior that could endanger other passengers are prohibited.
- Alcohol consumption must be responsible and must not interfere with the safety instructions or operation of the vessel.
- In case of an emergency, all passengers must remain calm and follow the captain and crew’s instructions immediately.
